Daniella Bound by Jake Malden

Daniella Blanchard is enjoying a romantic interlude with the handsome Eric Lehane, when he makes the suggestion – an interlude on a summer’s afternoon involving ropes, a blindfold and a waiting chair. Only when bound and helpless, subjected to an intense game of sexual tease and denial, does the student begin to suspect her lover’s wicked ulterior motives in their relationship. But Daniella is no meek submissive and she has secrets of her own, which will take Eric by storm. One scorching twist follows another in what becomes a weekend-long struggle of body and mind for sexual supremacy. Who will come out on top in this explosively erotic contest – Eric, Daniella, or sheer all-consuming passion?

Just a taste of Daniella Bound...

He leaned back in his chair, mind flooding with sweet recollections …

Daniella’s orgasm‐deprived body racked with pleasure as his fingers plunged inside her.

The clutch of her contracting pussy on his cock as he boned her hard from the rear, her limbs bound by rope and her soul by sweet lust. Those wild, full‐throated cries that filled his house, as her anger gave way to ecstasy. Then later on when all had changed—her firm young breasts jogging lightly above him as she rode slowly and gently, fingertips on his chest and fronds of brunette hair dropping about his face. Oh God, hot little darling, hot sexy sweetheart. My sweet Daniell …

Shit, enough with the endearments! If he kept on down that road, one might slip out in her company. He shook himself free of reverie, finished his coffee and made to depart. His erection made motion tricky, however, so he sat back with his newspaper for cover. He wrestled himself towards a place of calm.

Pretty girl. Not unintelligent. She was perfectly pleasant company with a nice line in conversation and a sense of humour. But chiefly she was a piece – of – ass. Hold to that and it would be one very satisfactory weekend. Revenge with benefits. Everyone happy, particularly him.

Eric clinked a couple of pound coins against his coffee cup as a tip, folded his newspaper and left. No more floundering, no more stupid guilt. This girl craves control and that’s what she’s going to get. He checked his watch on the way out. Two hours, and if he went straight home that’d be two thirty. Long enough to make her squirm. Yes, that’d do nicely. He had one call to make before returning home, a short walk down the High Street.

My Review...

5 Stars

This book is a contemporary erotica. It was a very good read, I loved the twist in the middle. I loved Daniella’s feisty attitude. I even liked how Eric had to be in control even after he realized he cared for her but was a little more aware of whether he was hurting her. At first I didn’t like him but he grew on me. This is one hot read so be prepared.

Imagine waking up to find the world has ended, but unfortunately you’re not alone…

For Connor Innis, awakening from a year-long coma with no memories, no ability to

move, and unable to speak was bad enough. Then he learns that a bioweapon set off a zombie

apocalypse—for real—while he was sleeping, and the world he can’t even remember no

longer exists.

Rehabilitation might be torture, but far worse awaits him outside. All too soon, the

hospital Mentor declares him fit to leave but with nothing to go home to except a city full of

mindless, flesh-eating monsters. That is, until he forms a strange relationship with the one he

nicknames Zombie Girl.

There was a zombie outside the window, staring in. Every last fragment of hope that

he’d had curled up and died. Not a person. Just a zombie at the door, setting off the buzzer

probably by pure chance. He might as well have thrown himself off the balcony.

Heart pounding hard enough to make his chest ache, Connor stood very still. He

stared into the misted grey orbs of her eyes. She stared right back. Not at him, but through

him, as though something infinitely more desirable lay far beyond anything she could see. He

read a kind of dull desperation in her blank face. A longing. Even if that longing was just to

tear him apart and devour him. Or maybe that was his imagination.

“Hello?” His voice came out as a dry croak and he wet his lips. He had to try

something. He couldn’t spend the rest of his life in silence and alone. Even this poor shell of a

human was better than that. And maybe—just maybe—he could reach her. Maybe even help

her find a fragment of her lost humanity. “Can you hear me?”

No sound or movement. No response at all.

Despair squeezed his throat. The hospital Monitor said the victims didn’t suffer brain

damage. The virus just stopped all the normal responses, isolating higher functions from their

basic animal instincts. Even animals could react to a voice.

“Hey!” He banged on the glass, but even that didn’t break her hungry stare. Perhaps

she couldn’t hear him, let alone understand or respond. Losing those higher functions must

have included any communication ability.

Connor sighed, then placed his palm flat on the glass. “I wish you understood me. I

wish you hadn’t all got sick when I didn’t.” He rested his forehead on the glass and closed his

eyes. “I really wish I could help you.”

A moment later a dull thud and a vibration in the glass drew his attention. He raised

his head.

She hadn’t moved from staring. But her hand pressed against his, separated only by

the glass.

Claudy Conn

However, my daughter lectured me and said that I should write about myself like I write my stories—so here goes…

While I have a fanciful imagination, I am a Capricorn—‘sure and steady’, and the obvious conflict leaves me jumbled. I have a computer, yes (invaluable), but I still jot down ideas on a scrap piece of paper, or a napkin in a restaurant. My imagination follows me wherever we go and sees so much more than meets the eye, and very often my husband will ask, ‘where are you now, baby?’

My dad was the one who clicked into my brain early on, and opened my mind to a world where a girl/woman could be so much more than ‘pretty in pink’. He told me to soar, and soaring for me, was writing.

We love horses and riding and when we migrated from New York to North Carolina we brought our barn with us—and yes, I’d rather muck out a stall than clean a house! My Irish, blue-eyed husband had to have a wolf and so we brought in our little hybrid wolf pup to our home. She is ¾ wolf/ ¼ German shepherd named Cherokee. Her 3 yr. old son (Rocky) is huge and eats everything and anything he can find and weighs more than 170 pounds!

Ireland and Scotland gave us the Fae and the Druids. In Ireland you can still visit the ‘Faery Mounds’. Think of the possibilities. I have and I’d love for you to join me as I explore them. So then, come with me and let’s see where we can go…

Teresa Gabelman

Teresa Gabelman is the Best Selling Author of the ‘Protectors Series’. Being a full-time writer has allowed Teresa to connect more with readers which is what she loves most about writing. If you find the time she would love to hear from you!

Melanie has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in Leadership and Development, with a minor in Women’s Studies. She is currently working on her Master’s Degree in Adult Education at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. She is married to a wonderful man, who supports her dreams and goals. D’Elen McClain

Best-Selling Author D’Elen McClain is a retired sex crimes and homicide detective who somehow managed to retain her sense of humor. She writes under three pen names dreaming about stories from life on the street as a beat cop in an unflattering blue uniform to paranormal and spicy romance.
USA Today Best-Selling Author, Holly S. Roberts, is her new adult and erotic writing pen name and Suzie Ivy is her tough crime fighting alter ego pen name.
Her two dogs, Dizzy, a Rottweiler with anxiety issues, and Duchess, her overweight Chihuahua, sleep and play at her feet while she writes at her home high in the Arizona mountains. Julia Mills

I am a sarcastic, southern woman that would rather spend all day laughing than a minute crying. I have 2 of the most amazing daughters ever created, a menagerie of animals and a voracious appetite for reading. I decided to write the stories running through my brain and am having an absolute blast!! I read my first book, Dr Suess’ Cat in The Hat, by myself at 4 and have been hooked ever since.
I believe a good book along with shoes, makeup and purses will never let a girl down. I know for a fact that all heroes inf all the books I have ever read or will ever write pale in comparison to my hero, my dad! I am a sucker for a happy ending and love some hot sweaty sex with a healthy dose of romance.
I am still working on my story but can guarantee you that it will contain as love and laughter as I can cram into it!!!!! Dare to Dream! Have the Strength to Try EVERYTHING! Never Look Back!

Brandy L. Rivers

I like gravy.

This has nothing to do with the rest of my bio, but I thought you ought to know.

About the writing thing…

I wrote my first play when I was six and made my brothers perform it for my parents. I charged gum wrappers for admission (a steal, in my opinion, considering I had handed out the gum wrappers ahead of time). While I seriously doubt you’ll be seeing any of my formative work on Broadway anytime soon, I can credit these early experiments with the first of many important lessons I learned about writing: no matter how brilliant your manuscript is, some kid can go streaking butt-ass nekkid across the living room, and totally undermine your vision.

Everyone watches the naked kid because running across the living room with your cheeks flapping in the breeze is friggin’ hilarious.

Cue the lightbulb moment. People like funny stuff!

I never quite gave up on the writing thing, even as I tried my hand at being a dusty academic turned Executive Assistant (they paid me to nag! How cool is that?), but in those quiet moments when expense reports had been filed and to-do items checked off, the funny people in my head kept talking to me.

Yes, I know they have medication for that. It’s called vodka.

Since they discourage drinking at work, I started writing instead. What came out was an amalgamation (vocabulary!) of all the things I love: funny stuff, art, psychology, food, people, and paranormal critters!

Et voila! The Case Files of Dr. Matilda Schmidt, Paranormal Psychologist were born.

When I’m not sitting in my office watching cat videos and pretending to write, I like cooking, knitting (badly), and reading anything that makes me laugh (like my bank statements).

I live in Colorado with my brilliant husband and three surly cats.

Excerpt: Chapter 1

“What the hell is that?” The new patient in the ER had an erection almost the size of a man’s arm. It

tented the sheet covering him, and I thanked my lucky stars that I wasn’t on the front lines in the triage

area. I could still hear the giggles from behind a curtain.

“This one’s yours, Jules. I’m not touching that with a ten-foot pole.” My co-worker and best friend’s

humor didn’t escape me. The two of us were working the graveyard shift, and from the look of it, Chris

was not going to help. In fact, bringing all the nurses’ attention to the patient may have only hindered

any progress. Fortunately, she decided to leave. “I’m pretty sure I have a patient who needs an enema. I

think I’d rather work that end than the one you’ll be working on.”

I highly doubted that. Chris worked the male nurses better than strippers did metal poles.

“Everybody out!” I pointed my finger to the door, but no one moved. Their heads were peeking one over

another, trying to catch a glimpse of the patient’s prominent injury. My mind was already running amok

as I wondered what the heck was underneath that sheet. “This is not Grey’s Anatomy,

people, so unless you’re helping I don’t want to see you.”

They finally scattered back to their duties. On Saturday nights, or should I say Sunday mornings, we

usually got the weekend party leftovers, and most of our patients were passed out drunk, stoned, or

heavily medicated. Comprehension in any of those states was minimal. This guy on the bed in front of

me was totally out. His face was covered in paint – green, red, yellow, blue, you name it and it was

there. What kind of a party had he gone to?

I peeled back the sheets with hesitation. The rest of his body was painted in the same mix of colors as

his face. My gaze rested over his hip, where underneath the smeared paint I could make out the black

lines of a tattoo, though its shape remained mysterious. I wondered whether the patient had any

clothes on when he came in. I sighed and removed the sheet down to his knees. The nurse beside me

had her mouth completely open and was focused on what first appeared to be a cannon – a huge

cannon made of a cylinder that imprisoned the patient’s enlarged penis.

“Holy crap!” I said under my breath. How do you get your cock stuck in

a pump?

This is a contemporary erotic romance set in New York City. I love the beginning of this book I think it’s the best beginning I’ve read in a while. I literally laughed out loud at their reunion scene. I really enjoyed this story, neither of these two wanted or felt they deserved a committed relationship, yet they were so right for one another. There are some twists and suspense, book kept me on my toes wondering what was going to scare her more of the relationship. In my opinion this was an awesome read and I thoroughly enjoyed it, I read it in one sitting, couldn’t put it down. I would really like to read Zoey and Ace’s story next. 🙂

Abandoned.

Thrown away.

Invisible.

Every single one of those could be used to describe me. They can tell you my story—my sad past—without a single syllable passing through my lips.

I hate them—those who lied to me. They claimed to love me, but in reality they used me when convenient. My parents. Sister. And now Talan. Loving them has left me empty. Sad.

Alone.

Not anymore. Screw them. My love has turned to anger…hate. Now, what consumes me is the urge to destroy, to force them to see what they wrecked with their carelessness. My name will never be forgotten. Not after I have my revenge.

His tears will be my ultimate retribution.

“You have three minutes to pull your nasty ass up and get out that door. Three, Janice, or I call the cops. Your call.” Talan laughed and pulled Maya in closer. He didn’t give a shit that I was bleeding on the floor and looking up at their blatant display of affection.

Deep down, I knew this was all an act on his behalf. He wanted me, not her.

Why continue this lie?

When I decided to come over to his house tonight, things played out differently in my head. He was supposed to pull me into his arms and make me feel what I needed to survive. Affection. This wasn’t an empty infatuation on my behalf. I needed him. More than she ever would.

I’d followed Maya down to the Seaquarium last night. There was something big going on. The parking lot was full, and it wasn’t with tourists. Everyone wore their uniforms, looking excited as they chatted on their way in.

Talan should’ve been alone. This had been my one and only shot to make him hear me out without her interference. Her bullshit lies.

If only I’d come right then.

Instead, I answered Mother’s phone call. Spent hours listening to her prattle on about how I needed to let the good Lord in, how he would help me release the demons that she and Daddy dearest created. The ones they denied having anything to do with.

It was my fault. Every goddamned thing wrong in our family’s life, my repentance would solve. Fuck the fact that my life was crumbling around me. It was too late for her to give a shit. Just another instance where her fucking existence ruined me.

Maya turned around in his arms and pulled his face down toward hers. “I want her gone and you naked in our bed upstairs.”

My stomach rolled at the sight. He was letting her touch him—enjoyed the jealousy that coursed through my veins. Neither watched as my hands clenched into tight fists and my fingers dug into the skin there. How the blood that ran down my lips boiled with hatred. Still, I loved him.

He ground his hip against her, and she moaned. The outline of his hardened cock could not be hidden, nor could the shiver than ran through me be stopped. It should be my body he used—took his pleasure from.

I’ve felt that glorious dick inside me. Was made to feel alive by every ridge—its every pulse.

“Are you going to punish me?” He smirked down at her, eyes heavy with lust. For the first time, a small ripple of hatred flowed through me at the sound of his voice.

Why was he doing this to me?

“No.” Maya reached up and nipped his chin. “Just going to teach you a lesson in ownership.”

She walked away then. Never looked back toward the woman she assaulted and left on the ground. I was made to feel unworthy. There was no concern in her for me, just a cocky sway to her hips as she marched toward his room.

“You heard her.” Talan stood across from me now, door wide open and his arrogant smirk firmly in place. “Get the fuck out, Janice. There’s nothing left for you here. Just go.”

When the fuck did he move?

“Baby, please. Don’t do this,” I begged him one last time as I stood and wiped my lip. Couldn’t he see what his carelessness was doing to me? How he killed me with each word that left his lips? “I don’t deserve this. Not again.”

His head tilted to the side, an inquisitive expression on his face. “Again? What the fuck do you mean, again?”

Ignoring his question, I walked closer. This was not the time to delve into a part of me—a part I couldn’t get a hold on. My hand reached out to grab him, yet he pulled back. Talan’s handsome face was full of the disgust he felt at my mere presence

“All I need is for you to love me. See me again.” The room began to feel small, the walls and the truth I’ve ignored closing in on me. My fantasy of happiness began to crumble like a stack of cards blown by the wind. Fuck. My chest hurt. “Please.”

It left me as a strangled whisper. My final plea. Talan had to realize that only he held the key to my sanity.

He shook his head and sighed. “No. No more. I never gave you hope, nor did I promise you a possibility for more. You did this to yourself.”

He made his choice.

There was nothing else to say.

“Okay.”

“Okay? Really? Just like that. After all this…” he waved his hand around the room “…bullshit!”

How fucking dare he treat me like this? Like a nuisance. “You know what, Talan? Fuck you and your little whore.”

This time, it was he who took a step closer. “Watch your goddamned mouth,” he spat with venom. Fear crept in, building within my gut, but I stood firm. He wasn’t going to intimidate me.

A light rap on the counter brought my attention to the man

in front of me. He had dark-brown hair that was tousled about in disarray. His

warm brown eyes melted through me. The five o’clock shadow from the stubble on

his face showcased his strong jaw line. He was sinfully gorgeous and I could

feel my insides turn all gooey from the sight of him in front of me.

My mouth was dry as he looked at me expectantly. In that

moment, it was as if something within me altered and changed. I couldn’t

explain it.

Get it together,

Ashlin.

“I’m sorry. It’s been a long day. Can you repeat what you said?”

My voice came out fairly normal, which I was proud of, versus the crazy energy

I felt pulsating within me.

He gave a gentle look; it wasn’t cocky or knowing, but only

sweet. “Is there anything I can get you?”

Smiling back, I responded, “I’ll have the beef stew and a

water.”

“Good choice. Coming right up.” He rapped his knuckles on

the counter as he walked off to the left.

I wasn’t paying attention to how his white shirt was rolled

up to his elbows. Nope. And I wasn’t paying attention to how his khaki pants

hugged him in all the right places. Nope. And I for sure wasn’t staring at him

as if he would be sex on a stick. Nope.

Seriously get it

together, Ashlin. My life has turned inside out and the last thing I need to be

thinking about is sex.

The man turned back toward me and I looked up at the

television screen that was above, hoping I wasn’t caught ogling the bartender. I need a life,

seriously. Time passed

and before I knew it, a steaming bowl of beef stew with a little plate of bread

was set in front of me.

It smelled delicious. “Thank you.”
The bartender smiled. I glanced back to my stew as I ate.
He responded, “You’re welcome.”

Taking a bite, it was one of the most delicious stews I had

ever tasted. I moaned in appreciation.

“It’s that good, eh?”

I licked my lips and felt heat creep up on my face. Not

realizing I had closed my eyes, I tentatively opened them and glanced at the

bartender, who was looking at me more intensely than before. “Oh, I did not

mean to do that out loud.” Picking up my napkin, I dabbed the corner of my

mouth. “Give my complements to the chef. It’s incredible. I’d love to get the

recipe.”

He leaned on the counter. “I’ll let the chef know. I know

him pretty well, and I’d say if he could get that type of reaction out of every

beautiful woman who ate the stew, he’d serve it all the time versus only on

special occasions.”

The bartender moved a little closer to me and I smiled at

his playful face while wanting to reach out and trace that devastatingly

handsome jaw line. Conspiringly, he whispered, “I’ve heard that the recipe is a

family secret. You’d have to marry the chef in order to get it.”

I giggled as he winked at me. “Okay, if I get that desperate

to have it, I’ll know to bring a ring and my bended knee.”

He chuckled and stood. “So, what brings you to Savannah?”

“Is this where I lay all my troubles on the line for the

bartender to listen and give advice?” I teased with him as I cocked my head.

He shrugged as he mixed a drink. The bar was otherwise

vacated except one person at the end who nursed a beer. “I happen to listen and

give advice for free on Wednesday’s.”

My smile was wide. There was something magnetic about this

man and I didn’t want our conversation to end. “Well, it’s a good thing it’s

Wednesday.”

“Yes, it is.”

Gazing around the room, I searched for Daniel. My father and

mother were busy talking to Mr. and Mrs. Stowe along with two other couples,

whom I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing. A young gentleman had been talking

my ear off and I was in desperate need of fresh air.

Turning to him, I asked, “Will you please excuse me? I am

in need of some fresh air.”

“Shall I join you?” he asked.

I quickly shook my head. “No. No, that will not be

necessary. I have a slight headache and need some time alone.”

Nodding his head, he smiled and took a step back, giving me

a quick bow. Returning the polite gesture, I began toward the kitchen. One look

over my shoulder showed my mother watching me intently. I’m sure she was

distressed at the idea of me wandering off and being late to sit down for

dinner.

Somehow managing to find my way to the back gardens, I

smiled and inhaled a deep breath. All I smelled were azaleas. I walked along

the cobblestone pathway that intertwined among Magnolia trees and some of the

most amazing flowers I’d ever seen. My mother would be green with envy were she

to lay her eyes upon this colorful garden.

“It goes on forever,” I whispered.
“One can easily get lost back here.”

I stopped the moment I heard his voice. Closing my eyes, I

placed my gloved hands on my stomach to calm the butterflies. Inhaling a deep

breath through my nose, I slowly blew it out as I turned to face him.

Daniel. His eyes

widened and he licked his lips. I raised the corner of my mouth and bowed

slightly. Daniel walked up to me and smiled, causing my knees to shake. For a

moment, it felt as if the earth was moving and I fought to stand upright.

He took a step closer to me as his eyes moved about my

face. When they landed on my lips, I instinctively licked them. His eyes were

ablaze with fire. I took a step back as he took another step forward. My

breathing increased as I felt something I’d never felt before.

Desire.
Want.

Need.

BLURB
Short blurb:

A fast-paced romp through Italy with tour director, Harriet Ruby, and handsome spy, Will

Talbot, in hot pursuit of a lost grave and an assassin.

Long Blurb:

I’m Harriet Ruby: Tour Director Extraordinaire. At least, I thought I was worthy of that title,

until…

My first mistake: Agreeing to conduct a private tour of Italy. Fourteen Italian-Americans from

New Jersey? All family, for three weeks, with four teenagers? What was I thinking? Fate

responds to my engraved invitation by placing one of the family under surveillance as a suspect

in an assassination plot, and who is assigned to the case? None other than my favorite drop-

dead-gorgeous spy, Will Talbot.

My second mistake: Allowing Will to coax an invitation from the family matriarch to join the

tour.

And that was just the beginning. The matriarch, searching for the unknown location of her

mother’s grave so she can bury her brother’s cremated ashes (which have been smuggled into

Italy wrapped in Cuban cigars), and her quirky family members sweep through Italy leaving

chaos, hilarity, and danger in their wake.

EXCERPT

Still standing inside the terminal with one hand on the door, I prepared to push it open,

when an intense shiver skittered up and down my spine. I tingled all over and heat zinged to

every to every erogenous zone, a sure sign of Will Talbot’s presence in the airline terminal.

I hadn’t seen him, but I didn’t have to. When we’re in the same space, he and I exchange a

flow of energy, and my body’s reactions said it all. We had a way of speaking to each other

without talking.

Will was my…well, he’s…hmm. Now, here’s the thing. Will Talbot and I had this

incredible, overwhelming physical attraction and a no-strings agreement to get to know each

other better and see if the rest of our relationship could catch up with our lust.

Since he lived in Spain and I resided in Rome, we only got together every two or three

weeks. We hadn’t progressed much beyond the lust stage of “getting to know you,” but there

seemed to be a lot of other stuff going on between us, which neither of us had figured out yet.

Excited, I opened the door and stuck my head out. “I’ll be there in a few minutes, Mario,”

I yelled, my voice tinged with anticipation, trying to keep an eye on the terminal at the same

time. “Please, get everyone on board. Thanks.”

He cocked an eyebrow and grinned. Mario knew about Will and me and, like I said,

nothing surprised him.

Stepping back inside and away from the entrance, I closed my eyes and waited. I sensed

Will’s approach and the closer he got, the more my girly parts tingled with anticipation.

Even though I expected it, I gasped when he placed his warm hands on my shoulders and

turned me around to face him.

He was as drop-dead gorgeous as ever, tall, trim and well-muscled, dark hair in a

military-cut-gone-spiky with just a touch of gray around the ears. Ex-military, Special Forces. So

hot, he could melt butter at the South Pole in the dead of winter.

He held me at arm’s length, not letting me close the distance between us and slobber all

over him. That meant he was on the job being a spy. No, I mean it. He’s really a spy. Officially,

his title is Europol Special Agent, but the things he does—the ones I know about, anyway—have

international spy written all over them.

Will looked at me and shook his head with resignation. “I might have known this was

your group.” He rolled his brilliant blue eyes upward. “Give me strength.”

Since I couldn’t kiss him or have sex with him right there in the airport lobby, I waved

my hands and got nasty instead. “I knew you were here, Will Talbot. Things like this never

happen to me unless you’re around. It’s your fault my karma has gone bad.”

Will wrapped his hands around mine and forced them down to my sides. “Signorina

Boobie, may I have a word with you in private?” His low sexy voice smoldered.

Even my teeth ached for him. “Don’t call me that.” The Hairy Boobies nickname, left

over from my first experience as a tour director when Will and I met in Morocco, will haunt me

forever. I wanted to be annoyed with him for bringing it up, but I was more interested in being

alone with him.

I sidled closer and gazed up into his hypnotic baby blues. “In private? How much in

private?” Yum. He smelled so delicious, all musky aftershave and Talbot testosterone. I wanted

to bite him.

“Not that private.” His tone warned me to behave. With purposeful but unhurried strides,

he escorted me away from any place where there could be eavesdroppers or bugs. When he

worked in his official capacity as Special Agent, he carried plenty of spy-equipment.

Off duty, he…well…had his own equipment.

He let me go and stood about two feet away, not touching but close enough to hear each

other. My knees weakened at the look he gave me. Sparks of energy shot back and forth, heating

us until we were in danger of spontaneous human combustion.

You might say I was anxious. Actually, horny would be a better description.

“Why didn’t you tell me whose family this tour was with?”

I blinked at the hint of annoyance in his voice. “And I’m thrilled to see you, too. I did tell

you. When we talked on the phone I told you, a woman named Vita Spinella and her family.

She’s the spokesperson, and it’s her show.”

“The feisty one with the cane?”

Merely envisioning the woman made me grin. “She’s the one.” He’d either seen or heard

about the recent events in Customs.

He shook his head, his lips compressed into a thin line. “Spinella. No wonder I didn’t put

it together.”

“Didn’t put what together?”

His frown formed a deep crease between his brows. I adored that cute little crease. “I told

you I was working a case in Italy.”

“I know. I accepted this gig, against my better judgment, I might add, because you

encouraged me to take the assignment.”

“Encouraged you? How?”

“Nearly five weeks without seeing each other is a long time for us,” I pointed out, trying

not to look down at the rather obvious evidence that his male parts didn’t need reminding. “You

didn’t think I’d take the risk of being sent somewhere else while you were in Italy, did you?

What’s the problem?”

“You’re walking all over my assignment again.”

“Your assignment?” My jaw dropped to flycatcher mode. “You mean my tourists have

something to do with the case you’re investigating? How was I supposed to know? Why didn’t

you tell me?”

“I can’t discuss it. My investigation may or may not have anything to do with your tour.”

Oh, man. Were we back to the need-to-know rule again? My shoulders twitched with

annoyance. I thought by now he trusted me with at least some information.

“Hmm, so you mentioned it to remind me you can’t tell me anything?” I planted my fists

on my hips, attack mode. “You’ve said that before. I hope this time your case really doesn’t have

anything to do with me, because, quite frankly, I don’t think I can deal with a repeat of the Spain-

Morocco trip.”

One of Will’s eyebrows shot up nearly to his hairline. “Meaning?”

I cleared my throat. “Don’t go postal on me, here. I don’t mean you or the part in bed. I’m

up for repeats any time. But I didn’t like the terrorist part, and I didn’t like getting kidnapped.” I

paused and took a deep breath. “And I didn’t like it when I thought I’d be killed before I found

out who the hell you really are.”
